Update: The basic plan will be this, Leave campus at ~18:00 on Friday 11th, arrive in Birmingham later that night. Drink copious amounts of beer. Wake up bright an early to be taught Jitsu by the best instructors in the country in the morning, then join in the competition in the afternoon. All bundle off for a curry and then to a nightclub for yet more drinking, arriving back at the hotel around 3am to find the bar still open. Yay!. Sunday, wake up, more Jitsu in the morning and then for those of you that go through, the finals of the competitions. Finally watching the open competition to see some fantastic Jitsu before climbing back into a minibus for the drive home.

Do come along to this, it is a really good weekend. Highlights from last nationals inclue:
- Two (unnamed) club members breaking into Susie's room and throwing snowballs at her
- One Senei twisting his ankle while running away from the scene of said crime
- Walking across the middle of Brum in fancy dress touting various weaponry
- And many many more memorable moments

Highlights of previous nationals also include
A Surrey purple belt becoming the first injury of the weekend, before even putting her gi on.
Several people being too hungover to even train on the first day.
2 rarely seen Surrey light blue belts actually getting on the mat (and then training very gently in a quiet corner).
A nightclub being drunk almost dry, with only gin and diamond white left by the end of the evening.
A non jitsu person trying to gatecrash the nightclub while a 3rd dan with an interest in "the psychology of violence" was on the door
Birmingham union security staff being thrown out after they tried to throw out several second and third dans who didn't have tickets.
300-400 people breakfalling simultaneously.
Trying to find yourself in a photo like this http://www.uwesu.net/jitsu/images/AtemiNats02.jpg (is it possible to do hyperlinks on here?)
